"God’s True Nature"

Monday - God: Father of All

Malachi 2:10

The Fatherhood of God applies in a general sense to everyone since all men and women are created by God in His image. Thus their creaturehood is derived from His Fatherhood. This fact is demonstrated by Hebrews 12:9, which speaks of God as "the Father of spirits." Paul even agrees with the heathen poet that all men are God’s offspring. He does not mean, of course, that everyone will have eternal life but that all men and women are the offspring of God in their created natures. James says that men still bear this image (James 3:9). Do you still resemble your Father?

Father, in all that I am, all that I do, all that I think, assist me as I strive to reflect Your nature. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Tuesday - God: The Son

Isaiah 9:6

It is crucial to remember that the existence of the Son of God did not commence with His birth in Beth-lehem. He is spoken of as the Son before He became a man. Micah prophesies of Hid birth, but yet states that His "goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting" (Micah 5:2). John says that He existed "in the beginning" before anything was created, as did God. God has presented Himself to mankind in three distinct forms. Each has brought mankind a special gift that allows him to see, obtain and appreciate salvation.

Father, allow me to understand the function of each person of the Trinity, and benefit from what that person has been assigned to do in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Wednesday - God: The Holy Spirit

Ephesians 4:3

One of the most serious errors in the minds of many people concerning the Holy Spirit is that He is simply a principle, or an influence. On the contrary, the Holy Spirit is as much a person as the Father and the Son. The Bible speaks of the mind of the Holy Spirit, His will. He is often described as speaking directly to men in the Book of Acts. He forbids, and instructs. It was this same Spirit, God’s Spirit, that spoke to the Christians at Antioch church, commanding them to send Paul and Barnabas on their on their first missionary journey. Considering all of these actions, could the Holy Spirit be a mere influence. These are characteristics of a person. Have you met him.

Father, reveal the true nature and ministry of Your Spirit, then help me follow His directives. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Thursday - Father of Believers

Romans 8:15

God is the Father of all who believe in Christ in a special sense not shared by unbelievers. God is called their Father, first of all, because they have a new standing before Him. While unbelievers are the offspring because He created them, they do not have the standing of sons. Their standing is rather as condemned sinners before God the Judge. When a person believes in Christ as Savior, his estate in wonderfully changed from grim condemnation to privileged sonship: heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ. Belonging to the family is contingent of one’s relationship with the Son, and therefore with the Father. How well do you know the Son? What is your relationship with the Creator?

Father, help me examine the condition of my relationship with You each day. Empower me to correct and restore any breaches You reveal. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Friday - Ministry Of The Son

Mark 10:45

The ministry of Christ comes in three parts. First, He is Savior. This title implies many important and interrelated truths: the need of sinful men to be saved; the qualifications of Christ as God-man to be our Savior; the humiliating death He experienced to become our Savior; the victorious, bodily resurrection He experienced as a sure guarantee of our salvation. He is High Priest. The high priest was of supreme importance in the Old Testament. It was on the basis of his mediation for the people before God on the Day of Atonement that they were brought near to God and protected from judgment. He is King. The position of king implies sovereign authority and rule over all. The Scriptures clearly teach that this right belongs only to Christ, who is called "King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Those who acknowledge Christ as King and Lord in this life will reign with Him in the next. Are you ready?

Father, as I recognize the parts You possess and allow them to act on my life, direct me in a manner that allows others to see the King through me. In His name, Amen

Saturday - Salvation Work Of Holy Spirit

Titus 3:5

The wonderful works of the Holy Spirit are also threefold. He uses these works to prepare unsaved people to become Christians. He restrains - Satan would enjoy nothing more than to destroy people before they make their decision to accept Christ as Savior. But the Holy Spirit prevents this from happening. He convicts - Mankind’s sin and righteousness are exposed by the Holy Spirit. There are well known cases of sinners being convicted by the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts. Felix, a Roman governor, actually trembles under conviction as he hears Paul preach. The other case involves King Agrippa who responds to a gospel message by saying: "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian" (Acts 26:28). He regenerates - When a repenting sinner accepts Christ as Savior he is given a new nature by the Holy Spirit. Jesus carefully explained this ministry of the Holy Spirit to Nicodemus in John 3. The Holy Spirit is still working in the world today. Have you responded?

Father, thank You for the ministries of the Holy Spirit. May His spirit embrace me and cause me to enter His work. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Sunday - God: Recurring Example

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Moses tells us, through his message to Israel, what home is all about. In his message, he intimates that the home is a replication of the God-head. He states that there must be a threefold responsibility. This threefold responsibility acts as a check upon the proper response. If the earthly father responds to God with love he will be fulfilling his threefold responsibility. If he fails in any particular, confession of sin is necessary because he does not love God with all his heart, mind and soul (as God loves us). The threefold responsibility is: having God’s truth govern the heart; having God’s truth govern his home; having God’s truth govern his habits and conduct personally, privately, and publicly There must be heart reality, not mere external conformity or ceremony. The nature of God must permeate the totality of our lives, daily.

Father, become a part of me, and my life. I ask for Your help of my own free will, desiring to glorify You in all I do. In the name of Jesus, Amen
